Burger King Canada recently spiced up its dessert menu with the launch of two new ice cream treats, stirring excitement among ice cream enthusiasts.
The two additions, the Oreo BK Blast and Smarties BK Blast, offer a refreshing twist to the fast-food chain’s dessert offerings.
These new treats are essentially vanilla ice cream blended with sugary toppings, bearing a resemblance in concept to popular items like McDonald’s McFlurry or Dairy Queen’s Blizzard.
What sets them apart is their unique mix-ins. The Oreo BK Blast incorporates the classic Oreo cookie pieces into the creamy vanilla base, while the Smarties BK Blast uses Nestlé-brand Smarties, which are different from the cylindrical, fruit-flavored Smarties available in America.
These are instead candy-coated chocolate pieces, adding a rich, chocolaty crunch to the mix.
Priced at $2.99 at a Burger King location in Toronto (though prices may vary by location), these treats are a summer special and are expected to be available at participating restaurants throughout the season and possibly beyond.
Interestingly, while these treats have been introduced in Canada, customers in the United States might feel a bit of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), as these specific items are not currently available in the U.S.
Burger King’s American menu does have its unique offerings, like the limited-time items themed around the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse movie, but the BK Blasts are, for now, a Canadian exclusive.
